Accordingly, being infected with the genital herpes virus places her at great risk of contracting genital herpes in the coming days. She should be made aware that even though there are no visible sores on her body, the virus still exists, and she is still at risk of developing the illness in the future. As a result, she must take precautions to avoid transmitting the virus in the future. She has to understand the different herpes simplex types and how they spread (Dlugasch &amp; Story, 2019). The woman should be aware that positive results from the HSV-2 IgG antibody test can mean that she has had the virus before or is now experiencing an undiagnosed herpes infection.</p> <h2>Assessment of Current and Previous HSV-2 Infection</h2> <h3>Question #2</h3> <p>Based on the facts presented, it is challenging to tell whether the infection is current or historical. Nevertheless, the positive HSV-2 test suggests that the patient has already been infected with the viral infection. Generally, testing using oral fluid or blood from a fingertip stick can identify HIV later than antibody tests using blood from a vein.</p> <h2>HIV Antibody Development and the Testing Window Period</h2> <h3>Question #2</h3> <p>It would take approximately three to four weeks for the test to show that Mr. Jones had HIV if he had contracted it. This is because the body's production of anti-HIV antibodies might take up to four weeks.
