The creation of social capital by The Neighbourhood Group is expressed through the group’s mission statement. The Neighbourhood Group supports individuals at all phases of their lives by giving them access to cutting-edge and successful programs and working together to create and promote a vibrant, fair, and equitable community.

Since social capital refers to a beneficial by-product of human interaction that can be leveraged to accomplish a shared objective, these programs and collaborative efforts facilitate the creation of social capital (Kenton, 2022). Through various programs, The Neighbourhood Group collaborates with individuals at all stages of life to address social and economic issues, strengthening relationships and community cohesion.

The Neighbourhood Group Community Services also provides social infrastructure through its service centres, including Central Neighbourhood House, Kensington-Bellwoods Community Legal Services, Neighbourhood Link, and St. Stephen’s Community House. These centres support human life and enable individuals to live independently or within supportive community environments, thereby enhancing overall well-being and social integration.
